Neuro-Psyche-Somatic Model

The interdependence between brain, psyche and body

The NPS approach enhances personal well-being and growth by analyzing the interdependence between the Neuro (brain responses to stress), the Psyche (thoughts and emotions at the root of the stress), and the Somatic (biological reactions triggered by the brain).

By analyzing the body's biological reactions (somatic) and the intense emotions surrounding the “culprit” event (psyche), we can determine how the brain responded to ensure survival. The NPS approach revisits these troubling experiences to address our feelings and reframe these events more fairly, liberating our brain from default "thoughtware" wired for survival and transforming them into life-enhancing momentum. Transmuting these obsolete programs opens a new way of engaging with life and thriving, liberated from past events and future fears.

In a Nutshell ...

The parts of the brain responsible for automatic operations, essential for survival, do not "think"; they perform. Their role is to maintain the balance of our biology, by triggering a physiological reaction in response to a perceived harmful event, attack, or threat to survival. It involves a series of complex interactions that prepare the body to either confront or flee from the threat. Our genetic inheritance, family history, upbringing, life experiences, and emotions collectively form our programming—our "thoughtware"—that dictates our reactions. Thanks to the remarkable plasticity of the brain, it is possible to modify our neural circuits and update our programming from the past, which often has become obsolete or ill-suited to our present circumstances.

Neuro

The brain, the main computer, triggers commands in response to stress

It has long been recognized that stress affects health. We now understand that the brain does not react randomly to events and situations in our lives but responds in a highly specific manner. Moreover, the brain does not distinguish between thoughts generated by reality and those produced by our imagination or symbolism. Our programming, primarily established during early childhood, prioritizes survival and influences our biology to resolve states of mind related to conflictual experiences or situations, whether lived or imagined. In other words, there is an "intelligence of life" underlying physical and psychological ailments.

Psyche

Thoughts, emotions, perceptions, and unconscious processes

Somatic

The biological solution in the body

Since our thoughts and emotions (psyche) directly influence our neuronal dynamics (neuro), which in turn directly affect our body (somatic), it is possible to analyze a person's experiences and biological reactions to discern their deep concerns. By understanding how their brain has responded to a specific stress within the body, we can identify conscious solutions to override the culprit to improve overall health, both psychologically and physically.

This Neuro-Psuche-Somatic approach is an excellent complement to any medical follow-up because it works at the level of the origin of the problem. By working in tandem with medical care, it contributes to a better quality of life—physically, psychologically, and spiritually.

This does not replace professional medical advice. This constitutes a novel perspective of a holistic, complementary, and alternative practice.

In the event of a medical emergency, ailment, or general health inquiries, promptly seek the advice of your doctor or other qualified health providers.
